Inspection of bank operation: DPM UM observed disbursement of pension payments

The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance, U Win Shein, visited branches of Myanma Economic Bank in Nay Pyi Taw to inspect the disbursement of pension payments to the retired government staff in the morning on April 22.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister observed the pension payment process at the Pyinmana and Pobbathiri Township branches of Myanma Economic Bank, where he also cordially greeted the retired staff collecting their pensions.

Following this, he observed charitable food offerings provided to the retirees by donors and he provided the food supplies to both the retirees and bank staff. Next, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister inspected the earthquake-related damage at the Pyinmana Township branch and reviewed the current progress of repair and renovation efforts, coordinating necessary actions with responsible officials.

The branches of Myanma Economic Bank in Nay Pyi Taw quickly carried out repairs to restore services after the earthquake damage. Pension payments are being processed as usual through e-Pension cards, and arrangements are in place for pensioners to collect their payments at other bank branches if needed, it’s learnt.
