Japan PM Ishiba meets new US Ambassador Glass

Japan's Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru met new US Ambassador to Japan George Glass at the Prime Minister's Office on 22nd April.

At the meeting, Ishiba said he hopes they can work hand in hand to strengthen the alliance between the two countries. Glass responded that the two countries have a long history of relations, and he looks forward to working together with Japan to make their friendship stronger. They discussed bilateral tariff negotiations and the ongoing World Expo in Osaka.

After the meeting, the ambassador told reporters that among the topics he discussed with the prime minister, bilateral economic talks were first and foremost. Glass said the two countries face many security issues that they need to work on together, but he is confident they will be able to build a safer and more peaceful Indo-Pacific.
