US Vice President JD Vance meets Pope Francis at the Vatican

US Vice President JD Vance met with Pope Francis at his Vatican residence to exchange Easter greetings on Sunday. The meeting took place at Case Santa Marta, where Pope Francis is recovering from a long hospital stay caused by an infection that led to pneumonia. 

The pontiff was discharged from hospital last month and has since limited his public appearances. The meeting lasted only a few minutes. Pope Francis gifted US Vice president with chocolate eggs for his children.
