Clean-up Activities: Damage assessment in quake-hit areas

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, together with officials, visited Yazamani Sula Kaung Hmu Taw Pagoda on Sunday to assess the damages of religious edifices caused by the severe earthquake.

At present, clearing tasks are underway with the collaborative efforts of Tatmadawmen, Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade as well as the social organizations.

Likewise, the clean-up activities for collapsed buildings are being carried out the Htupayone Monastery, the Technological University and the University of Cooperatives and Management as well as the No.1 Basic Education High School No.1 and residential buildings in downtown Sagaing.

At Sagaing Myoma Market, the officials from the Township Development Affairs Committee reported on the damaged buildings in the market and discussed plans for speedy opening of the market after clearing the debris.
