Beijing International Film Festival kicks off with rainy red carpet

The 15th Beijing International Film Festival kicked off on April 18 in Beijing, despite rainy weather that transformed the red carpet into a sea of umbrellas. The festival, running through April 26, has attracted over 1,700 film submissions from 103 countries and regions, highlighting its growing global influence. The opening ceremony featured a dazzling array of over 200 celebrities. 

 This year's festival is particularly significant, marking the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema and the 15th anniversary of the festival. The event serves as a platform for cultural exchange and showcases the vibrant development of the global film industry.
