Combating Online Frauds: 278 illegal immigrants detained on April 18

In an effort to combat online gambling, online fraud and illegal acts in border areas, 278 illegal foreign nationals who entered Kyauk Khat area in Myawady township of Kayin State were detained on April 18th.

From 30th January to April 18th, a total of 9,018 illegal foreign nationals were detained, and among them 7,288 were deported to their respective countries via Thailand.

Plans have been made to deport remaining 1,729 illegal foreign nationals to their respective countries. As the government is making strenuous efforts to takle online gambling, online fraud and illegal acts in cooperation with international organizations, officials from regions and states are participating in investigation processes to take legal actions against those who commit unlawful acts.
