Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung and officials, on April 15, conducted an on-site inspection of staff housing under the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area that had been designated as "blue level" (safe for reoccupation) following the severe Mandalay earthquake, as the buildings were not damaged.
During the inspection, the Union Minister advised the returning staff to maintain systematic living arrangements, proper upkeep of their housing units, cleanliness of the surroundings, and to ensure security and safety measures.
Following that, the Union Minister and officials visited Yezin station hospital in the Yezin universities campus, where they checked on the health care being provided to earthquake-affected staff families, including one family member who had recently given birth and others who were receiving treatment.
The 80 housing units under the departments of the Ministry have been assessed as structurally sound and suitable for staff to return, with minor repairs and renovations planned to be carried out under the ministry’s program. For the remaining affected staff, the ministry will be constructing temporary shelters to ensure adequate housing.
