






The Rakhine State Government organized a collective fish releasing ceremony at Kandawgyi Lake in Sittwe in the morning on April 16, attended by Chief Minister U Htein Lin and wife, who is the Patron of the State Women's Affairs Committee, the State High Court Chief Justice, state government officials and their spouses, as well as departmental officials and invited guests.
The event began with the Chief Minister, his wife, and officials releasing over 3,000 fish into Kandawgyi Lake as a meritorious deed. Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister, his wife, and officials visited the Tat Oo Hsu-Taung-Pyae Monastery and Pannalankara Monastery to pay respects to the Presiding Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. They also offered day meals and donated essential items.
In a separate event, the Chief Minister’s wife who is the Patron of the State Women’s Affairs Committee, along with the Committee members and the members of Maternal & Child Welfare Association, visited the Rakhine State Home for the Aged in Sittwe. They paid respects to the elderly residents, offering cash donations, food supplies, and flowers for them to offer at the Buddhist shrines.
Meanwhile, under the organizing of the Rakhine State Government, a special prayer session for national peace and safety began in the evening on April 8th at the Dakkhinarama Pariyatti Sarthintaik in Sittwe. Members of the Sangha led by the Presiding Sayadaw recited Paritta Suttas.
Simultaneously, chanting groups composed of government staff and civil society representatives gathered at the Lawkananda Pagoda’s Sasana Beikman hall and the Rakhine State Government Office to recite the "Ratana Sutta". These ceremonies aim to ward off calamities and ensure the well-being of all people across the nation.
