North Koreans mark founder Kim Il Sung's birthday

On April 15th, North Koreans mark the birthday of the country's founding leader Kim Il Sung by laying flowers and paying their respects in front of the statues of him and his son Kim Jong Il. Known as the Day of the Sun in North Korea, the April 15 birthday of the grandfather of current leader Kim Jong Un is one of the most important dates in Pyongyang's political calendar.
