









Due to the Mandalay earthquake, the Tengchong International Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurs Association from the People's Republic of China donated food supplies worth approximately 450,000 yuan to the Kachin State Natural Disaster Management Committee.
The aid, transported by four trucks, arrived on the afternoon of April 15. Following this, a donation ceremony was held at the Sama Duwa Saw Wa Naw Hall, where Kachin State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan expressed deep gratitude for the generous support.
He stated: "We are immensely grateful and proud that our neighboring friends from China have donated food supplies worth over 450,000 yuan to help the earthquake-affected people in our country."
Then, he formally accepted the donation and presented a certificate of appreciation in return. In a related event, the Kachin State Natural Disaster Management Committee handed over a third round of public donations to the National Natural Disaster Management Committee.
U Myo Swe, Chairman of the Fundraising Committee and State Minister for Economic Affairs, transferred 488.2739 million kyats to the Kachin State Chief Minister. These funds contributed by the government, private organizations, and the public will be forwarded to the national committee to support rescue and rehabilitation efforts in earthquake-hit areas.
The Kachin State Government has already donated a total of 1,640.1524 million kyats including two previous rounds to assist victims of the March 28 Mandalay earthquake. Authorities are also planning additional cash and food aid for further relief efforts.
Additionally, the Chief Minister, along with the state minister for Natural Resources and other officials, inspected Pork and poultry farms expanded under the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund and Passion fruit plantations in Nga Oe Village, Maw Phaung Village Tract, Myitkyina Township. They assessed progress and coordinated necessary support with relevant departments.
