Uninterrupted Reciting of Maha Pathana: MDY Region CM attended the event and offered donations

On the morning of April 12, the 42nd Uninterrupted Reciting " Mahā Paṭṭhāna Dhamma Discourse was solemnly held at Mandalay Hill’s Su Taung Pyae Pagoda in Aung Myay Thar Zan Township, Mandalay Region.

The event was presided over by members of Sangha led by the Principal Sayadaw of Mandalay Region Abbot Training School Bhaddanta Kesava, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Commander of Central Command Brigadier General Kyaw Ko Htaik, Mandalay Region Government ministers, Officials from relevant departments, well-wishers and invited guests.

First, the congregation observed Nine Precepts administered by the Principal Sayadaw of Mandalay Region Abbot Training School and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha. Next, the cash donation and offertories were offered to the members and Sangha before the event continued as scheduled.

The Uninterrupted Reciting "Mahā Paṭṭhāna Dhamma Discourse will continue until April 16.

On the same day, Mandalay Region Government Chief Minister U Myo Aung and Region ministers bid farewell to the Thai Royal Army Air Force medical team who departed from Mandalay.

The farewell took place at the ibis Style Hotel Mandalay Center in Chan Aye Thar Zan Township, where the Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude for the team’s humanitarian assistance to those affected by the Mandalay earthquake. He praised their neighborly friendship, goodwill, and compassionate support, presenting them with commemorative gifts.

Later in the afternoon, a Royal Thai Air Force aircraft carrying humanitarian aid for earthquake victims with the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Mongkol Visitstump onboard arrived at Mandalay International Airport.

The Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Region government ministers, and officials welcomed the delegation, after which the ambassador formally handed over the aid to the Chief Minister and representatives of the Myanmar Red Cross Society.

Chief Minister U Myo Aung and party, later, visited Pyin Oo Lwin, inspecting the No. (1) Tatmadaw Hospital (700-bed) and the Peoples’ Hospital. They met with injured monks, nuns, and civilians receiving treatment, encouraged them, and provided financial support and nutritional supplements to meet their needs.

The Chief Minister and officials also visited temporary shelters set up by the Chinese Red Cross Society in Maha Aung Myay Township Sports Ground and Bahtoo Sports Ground in Chan Aye Thar Zan Township for those displaced by the earthquake. They were joined by Ms. Gao Ping, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Mandalay, and other officials.

The Region Government and the Chinese Red Cross distributed food supplies and relief items to affected families while offering words of comfort and encouragement.
