A ceremony to provide relief funds for earthquake-affected staff from the Ministry of Information was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

In his opening speech, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn stated that due to the powerful earthquake, both the public and government staff had suffered casualties and losses. He encouraged all staff to remain strong and resilient, emphasizing the importance of disseminating accurate information during this time and called on state-owned and online media outlets to continue broadcasting truthful news to prevent misinformation from reaching the public and staff.

This was followed by provision of the relief funds to the families of staff members from the Minister’s Office, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), the Information and Public Relations Department, Printing and Publishing Department, Media Development Department, and the News and Periodicals Department.

Later in the afternoon, the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ and Oil Entrepreneurs Association donated 1,200 bottles of cooking oil to the families of Ministry of Information staff. The Union Minister accepted the donation and expressed his gratitude.
