Providing Supplies: Political parties provided supplies to UEC staff

The severe Mandalay Earthquake struck on March 28, caused significant damage to the Union Election Commission office and its staff.

In response, 25 political parties collectively donated 10 million Kyats to assist the staff and their families. The donation ceremony was held at the Union Election Commission’s meeting room on April 10.

The event was attended by Union Election Commission Chairman U Ko Ko, Vice-Chairman U Than Soe, commission members, officials from the Union Election Commission office, as well as leaders and representatives from the 25 political parties making the donation.

During the ceremony, the representatives from the 25 political parties handed over the 10 million Kyats donation, which was then accepted by the Union Election Commission Chairman, who presented a certificate of honor in return.

Following this, the Union Election Commission Chairman delivered a speech of thanks and concluded the ceremony. On April 7, the National Interest Development Party donated supplies valued at 8 million Kyats, including blankets, mosquito nets, pillows, cooking oil various foodstuff as well as other essential items.

Additionally, on April 8, the Union Solidarity and Development Party donated supplies worth 8 million Kyats, including 250 bags of rice, 250 bottles of cooking oil, and 250 bottles of drinking water.
