Appointment of UEC Vice Chairman: SAC appointed UEC member as UEC Vice Chairman

The State Administration Council issued an Order No (28/2025) appointed Vice Chairman of the Union Election Commission on April 8, 2025.

In the Order, it’s stated that the State Administration Council has appointed the Union Election Commission in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Union Election Commission Law, to organize a free and fair multi-party democracy general election.

As the time for the general election draws near, in order to effectively carry out the tasks of the Union Election Commission and provide further support to the Chairman of the Union Election Commission, U Than Soe, a member of the Union Election Commission, has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Union Election Commission under Article 419 of the Constitution. The Order was signed by the Secretary of the State Administration Council General Aung Lin Dwe.
