Inspection of damages: MCRD UM inspected damages of office buildings

The Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, along with relevant officials, on April 8, visited the areas affected by the Mandalay Earthquake that occurred on March 28, to inspect the damages to office buildings and to observe the distribution of drinking water to the affected people.

Initially, the Union Minister and officials visited the offices of the Rural Development Departments in Uttara District, Zeyathiri District, and Uttara District, which had been damaged by the earthquake. During their visit to assess the extent of the damage to the office buildings, the Union Minister instructed staff to carry out safety measures and, once repairs were completed, to ensure that office operations would resume as usual.

Furthermore, the Union Minister and party inspected the situation in Pubbathiri Township, where the Rural Development Department was distributing drinking water to the earthquake-affected people in the Yay Pyar Village. After reviewing the situation, the Union Minister gave instructions on necessary additional actions.

Additionally, the Union Minister and officials visited a plot of land owned by the Ministry of Rural Development, where the Cooeratives Development and the Department of Small Industries are working to build temporary shelters for the affected staff and their families. They inspected the land clearance for this purpose and, based on the briefings from the responsible officials, the Union Minister made recommendations for necessary steps to be taken.
