Ground inspection tour: Kachin State CM made ground inspection tour

Mohnyin District, a key agricultural hub in Kachin State, is being developed to enhance double-cropping productivity. State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan, visited the township public sports ground on the morning of April 6 along with officials. 

The Chief Minister and members observed summer sports training programs including football, volleyball, sepak takraw, and aerobics jointly organized by the District Sports and Physical Education Department and the Sports Sub-Committee. They warmly greeted the participating youth, trainees, and coaches, discussing the progress and needs of the programs. The Chief Minister then provided 3.15 million kyats for stadium maintenance, assistance for instructors, and sports equipment. 

Later, the Chief Minister and officials visited Mohnyin General Hospital, offering encouragement and financial support to the patients. They met with the District Health Officer, hospital superintendent, and medical staff in the conference hall, where hospital operations and development plans were discussed. The Chief Minister and his wife donated 2.5 million kyats for the medical staff welfare. 

The Chief Minister and party then proceeded to Basic Education High School No. (3), where they met primary school teachers from across the district attending the Diploma in Education (Dip.Ed) training for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Chief Minister provided 2 million kyats in support and visited classrooms to encourage teachers and trainees. 

Next, they visited KT Poultry Farm in Helong Village, which specializes in broiler chicken farming. They assessed operations and distributed free veterinary supplies and disinfectants provided by the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department. 

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister and officials visited Uttararama Monastery in Mohnyin’s Myoma Ward, paying respects to the township Sangha Nayaka Sayadaws. They donated 110 sacks of rice, 110 viss of oil, and cash to 11 monasteries.   

They then visited a Baptist church in Aung Tha Pyay Ward, meeting with seven local Christian leaders and Kachin literature and cultural association representatives. The Chief Minister donated 40 lakhs kyats (500,000 kyats per church for eight churches), 10 sacks of rice and 10 viss of oil per church, and additional support for the Kachin Literature and Culture Association and a children’s development school. 

They also inspected a traditional cultural association-owned plot in Aung Tha Pyay (2) Ward. 

On April 7, the Chief Minister attended the opening of a new 4,500-foot concrete road in Sar Hmaw Village, Mogaung Township, and inspected its construction. 

Later, in Kyar Inn Su See (2) Village, they met with local Baptist church leaders and residents, reviewing a self-built bridge on a village road. The Chief Minister donated 2.5 million kyats for a village library and coordinated further assistance with relevant officials, it’s reported.
