The National Disaster Management Committee’s Vice-Chairs presided over the third coordination meeting of the Disaster Management Centre on April 7.

Efforts should be made to ensure the opening and operations of offices by the end of this month. In rebuilding and repairing the damaged buildings, priority should be given to the restoration of office buildings. During the maintenance period, temporary offices will be opened, and the destroyed buildings will be divided into three groups such as red, orange and blue-level buildings.
The skilled engineers examined the destroyed staff housings in groups. The livable blue-level staff housing will be repaired to withstand earthquake damage, and efforts will be made to relocate staff families back to their designated places.
The temporary shelters will be rapidly constructed for staffs and their families from red and orange-level staff housing, which need to be demolished or extensively repaired. Vice-Chair 2 of the committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win then discussed the systematic allocation of international aid and donations and appreciated the work committees for their efforts.
The work committees’ members coordinated the discussion. The vice-chairs inspected the construction of temporary tents, bathrooms and toilets and access to water and electricity in Wunna Theiddhi and Dhana Theiddhi wards.
