France's Macron and Egypt's Al-Sisi negotiate inside Cairo metro

French President Emmanuel Macron and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi have engaged in several significant meetings and collaborations to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in sectors like transportation and infrastructure.

In December 2024, both leaders signed a roadmap for the Cairo Metro Line 6 project, aiming to improve urban transportation in the city. 

 Earlier, in October 2023, a memorandum of understanding was established between Egypt's National Authority for Tunnels and the Federation of French Consulting Companies, led by Aegis Rail, to advance studies for the second phase of the Cairo Metro Line 6 project. 

These developments underscore the strong and growing partnership between Egypt and France, with a shared commitment to enhancing infrastructure and fostering economic growth.
