Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar visits Abu Dhabi

UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The meeting focused on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and explored efforts to resume a truce, secure a ceasefire and facilitate hostage releases. 

Both sides reviewed regional and international initiatives to deescalate the conflict. Discussions also covered bilateral ties and broader developments in the region. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s backing for diplomatic efforts aimed at civilian protection and renewed calls for a two-state solution.

The visit occurred as Palestinian groups announced a general strike across the Palestinian Territories to protest Israel’s military actions in Gaza. Meanwhile, the UN reported critically low aid supplies in Gaza due to ongoing Israeli restrictions.
