The bodies of 9 migrants were recovered, while 25 others were rescued alive in relief

Off the coast of in the Çanakkale city of Turkiye, a boat carrying migrants attempting to illegally cross to Greece’s Lesbos Island capsized. Following a distress call from the migrants, a large number of Coast Guard and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

As a result of the rescue efforts, the bodies of 9 migrants were recovered, while 25 others were rescued alive. The survivors were taken to hospitals in Çanakkale and Balıkesir for treatment. Search efforts continue for a 4-year-old child who went missing after the incident.
