Strengthening Cooperation: Meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Prime Minister of Thailand Ms. Paetongtarm Shinawatra in Bangkok on Friday.

During the meeting, the Alternate Chair of BIMSTEC Thai Prime Minister expressed sympathy for the damages due to the powerful earthquake in Myanmar, and pledged to continue assistance for rehabilitation works medical treatment.

Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed thanks for the assistance by the Government of Thailand and its people, and also conveyed his sympathy for the injured individuals during the collapsed of building in Bangkok due to the quake.

The two sides later discussed the progress of bilateral cooperation, peace and stability in border area, combating illegal trade, drug trafficking and smuggling weapons as well as cooperation in an effort for eradication illegal online gambling and fraud cases.

The meeting also focused on conducting awareness activities to combat transboundary haze pollution, disseminating agricultural techniques and strengthening collaboration in economic, agriculture, livestock, defence and other sectors.
