






Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone on Thursday.
The Union Minister also met with the staff at the Auditorium and observed a minute-silence to show sympathy on the loss of life and properties. The Union Minister expressed his recognition for the efforts of the MRTV staff for uninterrupted transmission despite the damages.
During the visit, the Union Minister presented foodstuff worth of over 10 million kyats for the MRTV staff and security forces, assigned at the MRTV building. Due to the powerful earthquake, the MRTV building has caused widespread damages with the cracks of wind shield glasses, ceilings, walls, verandah along the walk ways, and office buildings as well as On Air Room, Convergence News Room, Conference and Training Room, and the Diamond Jubilee Museum.
The Union Minister also met with the families of the staff and provided foodstuff and cash assistance. During the quake, two staff housings were damaged, and the Union Minister spoke words of encouragement to the affected families. He also inspected the water tanks and instructed for convenient supply of water to the MRTV main building and staff housings.
