The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate, as Israeli forces have been blocking the delivery of relief supplies for a month. Israel cut off food and other supplies to the enclave on March 2 to pressure Hamas. The World Food Programme announced on Tuesday that all 25 bakeries it supports in Gaza have shut down due to a lack of fuel and flour.

The international nongovernmental organization Doctors Without Borders also said there is a shortage of medical supplies in the Gaza Strip. Israel and Hamas remain divided in negotiations over extending a ceasefire in Gaza. Israel is stepping up its military campaign in the enclave.
