International Assistance: Rescue teams and relief supplies arrived

The government is rapidly investigating the damage in the earthquake-affected areas and carrying out timely rescue and relief efforts. In addition, international humanitarian assistance is also being provided. Rescue teams, doctors and nurses, humanitarian aid supplies, and medicines are arriving in Myanmar on a daily basis.

On April 2nd, a search and rescue team from the Philippines, Nepal, Singapore, Japan's Nippon Foundation, a team of doctors and nurses from Kunming, Yunnan Provincial Government of China, humanitarian aid supplies, and medicine, arrived at the Tatmadaw Airport in Nay Pyi Taw.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement welcomed the search and rescue teams, doctors and nurses from the relevant countries, at the airport. The rescue teams will be divided into groups and will provide timely search, rescue and medical treatment to the people in the earthquake-affected areas.
