Successful Operation in Sagaing: One person found alive after five days of disaster

A man who was trapped under the debris of Swe Taw Nan guest house in Poe Tan ward of Sagaing was successfully rescued after five days of the powerful earthquake that struck on March 28th.

The rescue operation is being carried with the collaborative efforts of rescue teams, comprising with the Fire Bridge members, Myanmar Police force, SMART Team from Malaysia and local community. It’s reported that totally 4 people were trapped under debris when the earthquake occurred, and among them, one person was successfully rescued on that same day, along with the two other deceased.

The rescue team has successfully recovered the last trapped person, U Khin Maung Htwe at 2:45 pm on April 2nd. The recently rescued victim is a Principal of the Post-Primary School from Inn Taung Village in Min King Township.
