On April 1, First Lady Melania Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted the 19th annual International Women of Courage Awards at the State Department in Washington, D.C. This event honors women worldwide who have demonstrated exceptional courage, strength, and leadership, often at significant personal risk. Among the eight distinguished honorees was Israeli lawyer Amit Soussana.

In her acceptance speech, she called for global action to secure the immediate release of the remaining hostages in Gaza, stating, "Bring them home now, not tomorrow, not next week. Now. During the ceremony, Melania Trump emphasized that courage is rooted in love, highlighting the transformative power of these women's actions. She also stated, "Love has inspired me to embrace forgiveness, nurture empathy and exhibit bravery in the face of unforeseen obstacles."
