








In solemn remembrance of those affected by the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar at 12:51:02 PM local time on March 28, resulting in tragic loss of life and widespread destruction, a seven-day of National Mourning period was declared from March 31 to April 6.
As part of the nationwide observance, a one-minute silence was observed nationwide at 12:51:02 PM on Tuesday. In Nay Pyi Taw’s Tabaung Ground, attendees led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing observed a minute silence for those who were deceased during the devastating earthquake.
These activities also took place in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, Bago Region, Ayeyawady Region, Magway Region and other regions and states. Due to the earthquake, 2719 reported deaths with over 4500 injured and 450 missing as of Tuesday morning.
