In Bosnia, people evacuate as thousands of homes are flooded after heavy rains

Thousands of homes and vast agricultural areas in Bosnia have been flooded due to heavy rainfall over the past few days, with some areas receiving up to 170 liters per square meter in just 48 hours. 

In Prijedor, one of the worst-hit cities, located in the northwest of the country, more than 800 homes were flooded by two swollen rivers. One of the resident who spent the night on standby with a pump to protect his home and those of several neighbours also said that it has never been like that for them.
