




People gathered to witness a partial solar eclipse in the southern Spanish town of Ronda. Skygazers across a broad swathe of the Northern Hemisphere will have a chance to see the Moon take a bite out of the Sun on Saturday when a partial solar eclipse sweeps from eastern Canada to Siberia.
Curious observers making sure to protect their eyes might be able to see the celestial show in most of Europe, as well as in some areas of northeastern North America and northwest Africa. The partial eclipse, visible across swathes of the Northern Hemisphere, is the first of the year and the 17th this century.
