India Assistance: Relief supplies and rescue team from India arrive Yangon

The first consignment of relief material, provided by the Government of India, arrived in Yangon on Saturday. A search and rescue team and medical team was also sent to provide assistance in rescue operation at quake hit areas.

The first tranche of 15 tonnes of relief material, include tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food packets, hygiene kits, generators, and essential medicines. These relief items were formally handed over to Chief Minister of Yangon U Soe Thein by Ambassador Abhay Thakur at Yangon International Airport.
