Paying Respect: Meeting with Independence Mawgun Award winners

Three winners of the Independence Mawgun Award Second and Third Class joined the 80th Anniversary Armed Forces Day celebration on 27th March.

Prior to the occasion, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commandar in Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army), Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife hosted a tea reception to the attendees at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, the Vice Senior General and wife inquired about their health conditions, provided nutritious foodstuff and honorary cash. Among the attendees were Independence Mawgun Award Third Class winner U Aye Thein, aged 97, Independence Mawgun Award Second Class winner U Ba Chaw, aged 97 and Independence Mawgun Award Second Class Winner U Kyaw Sein, aged 100.

They are in good health and recounted their experiences during the anti-fascist revolution, filled with patriotic and nationalist fervor.
