Awarding Ceremony: Conferring the military gallantry medals

A ceremony to confer honorary medals for military gallantry performances was held at the Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on 27th March.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the event. He highlighted the efforts of the governments to ensure every individual who sacrificed blood and sweat to safeguard the peace and prosperity of the nation are honored deservingly.

He stressed that the Tatmadaw has been serving the nation and its people, upholding its genuine nationalistic stance. He called for the concerted efforts of the entire nation to actively participate in respective sectors to successfully hold the free and fair multiparty democratic general election.

He also recognized the bravery of the recipients in national defence duties, supporting the noble mission of the Tatmadaw. He urged all to continue striving to become good citizens who can pass down the legacy of independence to the next generation.

During the ceremony, the Senior General presented gallantry medals to 22 recipients, including 1 Major General, 3 Colonels, 1 Police Brigadier General, 2 Lt-Colonels, 3 Majors, 2 Major/Captains, 3 Captains, 1 Quartermaster Sergeant, 2 Sergeants, 2 Corporals and 2 Lance Corporals. Then, a tea reception was hosted to the recipients, along with the stage performances of Myawaddy Music Band.
