Peru's Boluarte calls for Presidential Elections in April 2026

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte called Presidential and Legislative Elections for April 12, 2026, marking the official start of the country's electoral process, in which she will not be able to participate.

Peruvian law does not allow her re-election and requires the government to officially call elections one year in advance. President Dina Boluarte said "On 12th April 2026, Peruvians will have a date with history and will elect new authorities in democratic, clean, transparent, and orderly elections".
