Opening of Dip in IFRS: UAG gave an opening speech

The opening ceremony of the Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Batch-I, Level-III, organized by the Myanmar Accountancy Council, opened in Advanced Accounting and Auditing Training School under the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, was held at the Nawarat Hall of UAG office Nay Pyi Taw on March 25. 

During the ceremony, the Auditor General of the Union and Chairperson of the Myanmar Accountancy Council Dr. Khin Naing Oo, addressed the trainees. She emphasized that the knowledge gained from the course should be effectively applied in practice to improve accounting systems. She also highlighted the importance of preparing accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS, providing sound recommendations, and conducting thorough reviews to ensure adherence to accounting standards. By doing so, she noted, trainees would contribute to greater accountability, transparency, and high-quality financial reporting frameworks. 

The IFRS Diploma course will cover 12 International Financial Reporting Standards. A total of 43 trainees including 11 from the UAG Office and 32 from 13 different ministries are participating in the program. The training will run for over three months, starting to date and concluding on July 15.  Upon successful completion of Level (III), participants will be awarded a Diploma in IFRS, it’s learnt.
