Dubai exhibition ‘Rang-De-Gulal’ showcases India’s folk art

Dubai International Art Centre is hosting Rang-De-Gulal, an exhibition celebrating India’s rich folk art traditions. 

The event features 24 Indian artists, offering a global platform for traditional art. The exhibition presents diverse regional art styles, each with unique storytelling and visual elements, reflecting India’s cultural heritage.   Among them is Theyyam art from the Indian state of Kerala, known for its ritualistic face painting, bold colors, and dynamic costumes, symbolizing energy and transformation.  

The exhibition showcases India-UAE cultural ties, with Dubai emerging as a hub for artistic exchange and economic opportunities for Indian folk artists.
