Inspection Tour: Furniture Factories and forest reserve inspected

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi inspected furniture production process, using teak, acacia mangium and rubber wood at Chan Myae Thar Wood Finishing Factory in Dagon Seikkan Township on Sunday. He heard reports on raw material availability, market demand and future plans.

Emphasizing private sector involvement, the Union Minister urged cooperation for raw material access, exports and identifying suitable wood species for furniture production. The Union Minister then proceeded to the No. 10 Furniture Factory under Myanmar Timber Enterprise in South Dagon Township.

On the arrival, he heard reports on teak furniture production, exports, and market conditions. He urged efforts to meet revenue targets through value-added production and market expansion.

The Union Minister also emphasized collaboration with relevant sectors and stressed technology and workforce development. He later oversaw the finished wood furniture.

At Great Myanmar Rattan Factory, the Union Minister inspected rattan furniture production and heard reports on raw material availability, finished products and export challenges. Later, he visited the mixed plantation demonstration area and a beekeeping demonstration in WarGaToke nursery garden of Salu forest reserve in Bago Township and instructed the needs.
