Armed Robbery: Four suspects arrested for Gold Shop robbery in Yangon

On March 23rd, four armed masked men robbed the "Tate Shein" gold shop on Maha Bandula Road at Pabedan Township, Yangon at 8:45 a.m and stole gold worth 120 million kyats.

A case was filed under Section 392 of the Criminal Code of Law at Panbedan Police Station. Security forces investigated the robbery by collecting reports and local information. According to the informers, the perpetrators fled in a white Toyota Corolla vehicle toward Pansoedan Road.

At 11:00 a.m., the driver Sithu Kyaw was found with the vehicle at the intersection of Wahdan and Anawrahta Roads in Lanmadaw Township. He was taken into custody for investigation.

According to driver, he dropped the suspects at the intersection of KanNar and Bo Aung Kyaw Road in Kyauktada Township. Further investigation led to the arrest of robbers Lin Thant Aung, Thet Htoo Zin, Kaung Khant Thura @ Wathone and Min Khant Ko @ Phoe Kar with a black glue gun, three iron saws, 51 gold bracelets and 37 gold rings at Casa Myanmar Hotel in Botahtaung Township at 2:15 p.m.

In the incident, the four suspects were arrested within six hours and legal action is being undertaken in acoordance with the law.
