Gold Plates Donation: MOFA staff makes donation at Shwedagon Pagoda

A ceremony to donate 62.5 million kyat worth of 2 gold plates each weighing 6 ticals and 13 gold plates each weighing 1 tical was held at the Shwedagon pagoda on 20th March. The gold plates were donated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the staff and family members of the Myanmar Embassies, Country offices of Myanmar and Myanmar Consulate General offices in abroad.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe donated the gold plates to the Pagoda Board of Trustees who in turn presented honorary certificates. Then, the Deputy Prime Minister and well-wishers offered 6 tical weighed 2 gold plates at banana bud of the pagoda and 1 tical weighed 13 gold plates at the upper terrace of the pagoda.
