Paying courtesy call: IBC General Secretary paid courtesy to MOI UM

The Secretary-General of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), an organization under the Indian Ministry of Culture, Ven. Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, along with delegation paid a courtesy call to the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn at the meeting hall of Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on March 18.

During the call, they held open and friendly discussions on several topics, including the promotion and flourishing of Buddhism not only in the five Buddhist-majority countries but also globally, the spread of the Pali language, strengthening Myanmar-India bilateral friendship, continuous collaboration in the media sector, living in accordance with the five principles of peaceful coexistence, and joint efforts in conducting media training programs between the two nations.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, the Permanent Secretary, relevant departmental officials, and representatives from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC).
