Opening of new road section: Mon State CM attended and opened the road

In celebration of the 51st Mon State Day, which will fall on March 19, the opening ceremony of the new Road Section (3) of the Mawlamyine-Kyaikmaraw Road was held in the evening of March 17 at the Project briefing hall on Mawlamyine-Kyaikmaraw Road section in Mawlamyine. The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Chief Justice of State High Court, members of the state government, ministers, departmental officials, and local residents.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that the Mawlamyine-Kyaikmaraw Road Section (3) connects Mawlamyine and Kyaikmaraw Townships and is home to the iconic toddy palm tree rows, a landmark of Mon State. He emphasized that this road will enable the public to travel safely and conveniently for economic and social purposes, free from vehicular and road hazards. He added that the state is progressively repairing and upgrading roads and bridges year by year, while urging local residents to collectively maintain and preserve these infrastructures for long-term sustainability.

Following this, a local resident expressed words of gratitude and joy. The Chief Minister and state ministers officially opened the new Section (3) of the Mawlamyine-Kyaikmaraw Road by cutting the ribbon. During the event, cash awards were presented to the Mon Yein dance troupe and the Drum and Bugle and Pom Pom dance group for their performances. The officials then warmly greeted the local residents.

To further welcome and honor the 51st Mon State Day which will fall on March 19, the opening ceremony of the new upscale fish market in Mawlamyine was held at the site of the new fish market in Mawlamyine in the morning on March 18. The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister, Chief Justice of the State High Court, state ministers, departmental officials, and invited guests. They officially opened the new upscale fish market by cutting the ribbon and inspected the facility.

Additionally, Chief Minister and state ministers visited the examination centers at Basic Education High School No. 11 and No. 12 in Mawlamyine. They observed and encouraged students taking the English subject exam on the second day of the 2024-2025 academic year matriculation examination, ensuring they could take the test with peace of mind. Afterward, the Chief Minister instructed the examination supervisors and officials on necessary matters and expressed gratitude to the teachers, staff, and all those from relevant departments who assisted in the process.
