






Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn attended the opening of staff capacity-building training and welcoming ceremony for fresher staff held at the Auditorium of MRTV in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw on March 17 and delivered a welcoming speech.
In his speech, the Union Minister stated that in the media era of today, the media sector is of great importance. Being the state-owned media, it should contribute to the nation’s development and actively participate in nation-building, peace and prosperous processes while providing the public with accurate news, opinions and thoughts, together with happiness and joy, in addition to its three main duties to inform, to entertain and to educate.
The union minister also urged the attendees to manage better media connecting with modern technologies including AI, follow the rules, serve duties as per the motto “Live with discipline, act with loyalty and bravery”, think about innovative ideas and try to be loyal servants for the country and the people.
The event was also attended by Permanent Secretary U Win Kyaw Aung, departmental officials, officers and staff of MRTV. A total of 89 staff members joined the capacity-building training.
After the event, U Maung Maung Ohn and officials inspected ongoing operations and reviewed the progress of the energy-saving 1000-ton Chiller System, which is being implemented in four phases for the main broadcasting building. The third phase, involving the installation of a 250-ton chiller, has been completed.
He also inspected the installation of two water purification systems to ensure an adequate supply of clean drinking water for the staff. Then, the Union Minister and party had lunch together with officers and freshers of MRTV at the Office Canteen.
