Germany has committed an additional 300 million euros in aid to support Syria, ahead of an EU donor conference aimed at raising funds following the ouster of Bashar al-Assad. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced the pledge in Brussels, highlighting the importance of supporting a peaceful process for Syria and the broader region.

The funds will be allocated to the United Nations and selected organizations working on the ground to assist with reconstruction, humanitarian aid, and stability efforts. Baerbock described the initiative as a "historic opportunity" and a "mammoth task," emphasizing the need for an inclusive approach that ensures all parties are involved in the peace process.

The support aims to contribute significantly to Syria's recovery and regional stability.
