Meeting with athletes: Chairman of MOC met with Myanmar Sepak Traw team

The Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, met with Myanmar Sepak Takraw team, which will compete in the Bihar International Sepak Takraw Federation World Cup 2025 set to take place in Patna, India, from March 20 to 25 and delivered an address to the team at the joint conference hall of the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on March 11.

At the meeting, the team’s officials, coaches, referees, and athletes introduced themselves individually. Officials from the Sepak Takraw Federation then presented updates on the team's preparations and the competition categories in which Myanmar will participate.

In his address, the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance Myanmar’s sports standards. He urged the relevant officials to make full preparations to achieve success in the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

He also encouraged the athletes to showcase the strength and determination of  Myanmar people and to compete with unwavering spirit and perseverance.

The Myanmar Sepak Takraw team will participate in the competition with a total of 17 members, including four officials/coaches, one referee, and 12 male and female athletes. The team will compete in both men's and women's doubles and four-player events.
