Diplomatic Ties: Myanmar Consulate General Office in Novosibirsk

Opening Ceremony of Consulate General Office was held at Grand Autograph Hotel in Novosibirsk of Russian Federation on Sunday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

First, the natioanl anthems of the two countries were played, saluting the flags. In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe said the Myanmar Consulate General Office is aiming to serve as a bridge between Russian in Novosibirsk and Myanmar people, to promote understanding between the two nations and to provide Consulate services.

Then, the Governor of Novosibirsk made a speech, saying that he was delighted for the opening of Myanmar Consulate General Office in Novosibirsk and will also promote cooperation with Myanmar. Mayor of Novosibirsk then delivered a welcome speech.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Governor of Novosibirsk opened the Consulate General Office by cutting the ribbon. Next, the SAC Chairman and governor of Novosibirsk received commemoratives gifts presented by the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister later visited the Myanmar Consulate General office, where he was welcomed by the office families. There, the Prime Minister sprinkled scented water to the singboard of the office. During the meeting with families and trainees in Novosibirsk, the Prime Minister said it is necessary to promote friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Novosibirsk while striving to promote trade activities.

He added that arrangements are undertaking to send scholars to the Universities in Novosibirsk. The Prime Minister also coordinated the requirements for the families and trainees. Later, the Prime Minister presented foodstuff and cash awards to the families of Consulate General office and trainees.
