






Russia-Myanmar Business Forum took place in Moscow on Wednesday. The Forum was jointly organized by the Myanmar Embassy in Russia, the UMFCCI, Myanmar Airways International, Roscongress Foundation, Fund RC-Investments, Russia-ASEAN Business Council and Russia-Myanmar Business Council.
Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw and Russian Minister for Economic Development Mr. Maxim Gennadyevich Reshetnikov made the opening speeches. The UMFCCI Chairman later made brief explanation on “Doing Business in Myanmar”, followed by the presentations by the representatives from both countries. This was followed by screening of a video clip on implementation for operating Russian MIR Card in Myanmar.
The afternoon session was joined by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. In his speech, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for upgrading the Dawei Special Economic Zone in collaboration with Russia, and hoped to sing the agreement in soonest time, along with the establishment of strong legal frameworks.
He also extended invitations to make investments in transportation infrastructures that need to be upgrade along the economic corridors in the country. He pledged to provide assistance for the private entrepreneurs through cooperation between the two governments, fostering common interest for both countries.
