Tour in Shan State: Efforts for greening the environs

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi inspected the greening measures in Pindaya area on 4th March.

During the meeting with officials, the Union Minister called for cooperative efforts of local administrtive bodies, concerned departments and local communities for greening measures outside the forest land areas.

He also stressed the measures for long term sustainability of the forest plantations. Concerning the occurence of Fire Hotspots which mostly happened in Shan State, the Union Minister urged all to make effective measures for reducing haze and pollution due to wildfires. The Union Minister and party later inspected the chosen sites for establishing the forest plantations for greening environs.
