Meeting with Speaker of FC: SAC Chairman held discussion with Speaker of FC

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on an official goodwill visit to Moscow, the Russian Federation, met and held discussions with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Ms. Valentina Matviyenko, at the Federation Council in the afternoon, local standard time on March 4.

Initially, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister, and members of the goodwill delegation arrived at the Federation Council building of the Russian Federation, where they were warmly welcomed and greeted by the Speaker of the Federation Council Ms. Valentina Matviyenko.

Following this, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister signed the guestbook of the Federation Council. Subsequently, the Speaker of the Federation Council introduced officials from the Federation Council to the Chairman, who, in turn, introduced the members of the goodwill delegation.

Thereafter, a meeting was held in the meeting hall of the Federation Council, during which open and frank discussions took place. Topics included cooperation between the two legislative bodies, diplomatic relations between the two countries, government-to-government, state-to-state, and people-to-people relations and their progress, opportunities for mutual collaboration between the two parliaments, prospects for further enhancing relations and cooperation between the two countries, mutual goodwill visits between the two legislative bodies, preparations being undertaken by the State Administration Council to hold free and fair multi-party democratic general elections, the possibility of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation sending observer teams during Myanmar’s elections, and plans to further strengthen relations between the two parliaments once Myanmar’s legislature is re-established.

Following the meeting, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister together with the Speaker of the Federation Council and members of the goodwill delegation, took a group photo for the record, it’s reported.
