Meeting with Chair of State Duma: SAC Chairman met with Chairman of State Duma

The Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on an official goodwill visit to Moscow, the Russian Federation, met with the Chairman of the State Duma, Mr. Vyacheslav Volodin, in the meeting hall of the State Duma building in the morning on March 4.

Accompanying the Chairman of the State Administration Council and the Prime Minister were the SAC Council Joint Secretary, General Ye Win Oo, Council Member General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers U Than Swe, Admiral Moe Aung, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Myanmar Ambassador to Russian Federation, U Thit Lin Ohn, and other officials.

The Chairman of the State Duma and officialsn also attended the meeting. First, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister, and the goodwill delegation arrived at the State Duma building, where they were warmly welcomed and greeted by the Chairman of the State Duma. A commemorative photo session followed. Subsequently, the meeting was held, during which cordial and friendly discussions took place on the operational activities of the State Duma, its organizational structure and party formations, the prospects for parliamentary cooperation between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, the State Administration Council's assumption of responsibility due to electoral fraud in the 2020 multi-party democratic general election, preparations for holding free and fair elections, Russia's support during Myanmar's election period, the impact of foreign-assisted political parties on national stability, the hierarchical structure of Myanmar's legislative bodies and election procedures, continued enhancement of bilateral cooperation, and mutual exchange of goodwill visits between the parliaments of the two countries.
