Opening of Dip IPSAS & Dip IFRS: UAG gave the opening remarks

The Union Auditor General and Chairperson of Myanmar Accountancy Council, Dr. Khin Naing Oo, delivered the opening remarks at the Nawarat Hall of the Union Auditor General’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on March 3, during the opening ceremony of the training courses conducted via a hybrid system.

These courses include the Diploma in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (Dip IPSAS) Batch (2), Part (1) for the public sector and the Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (Dip IFRS) Batch (2), Part (1).

In the opening remarks, Union Auditor General Dr. Khin Naing Oo, stated that the trainees would gain knowledge and expertise related to IPSAS and IFRS accounting standards.

By practically applying and adhering to these standards in preparing their respective departments’ financial statements, they would be able to produce financial reports with improved accountability, responsibility, and transparency.

He emphasized the need for trainees to diligently study the lessons provided to enable practical application in their workplace and to contribute to the development and progress of Country’s financial reporting system.

Subsequently, the head of the Nay Pyi Taw Training School under the Union Auditor General’s Office and the Advanced Accounting and Auditing Training School provided a detailed explanation of the training-related information.

The IPSAS course will cover nine international public sector accounting standards, with a total of 39 trainees participating, including five from the Union Auditor General’s Office and 34 from 16 ministries.

The IFRS course will cover 11 international financial reporting standards, with a total of 54 trainees, including 15 from the Union Auditor General’s Office and 39 from 22 ministries. The IPSAS course will run from March 3 to May 19, 2025, while the IFRS course will run from March 3, to May 5, 2025, each spanning a training period of over two months.
