European companies expressed confidence in Viet Nam's potential and showed eagerness to attract more investors during a dialogue with Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and government leaders on Sunday.

A recent survey revealed that 75% of European businesses planned to consider Vietnam as an investment destination. With the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement in place, bilateral trade between Vietnam and the EU reached $68 billion last year, a 16% increase from the previous year.

To strengthen ties and attract more EU investment, Viet Namneeded to improve its investment environment and develop infrastructure to create better conditions for these companies.

The EU remained Viet Nam’s fourth-largest trading partner and fifth-largest investor, with cumulative investment exceeding $30 billion. Additionally, the EU was Viet Nam’s largest donor of official development assistance (ODA).
